As well as the Carers Information Service, the Carers Support Centre is home to a number of organisations supporting Croydon carers, those they care for and the local community.

Provides information advice and support to parents of children and young people with SEND who are being assessed, reviewed or transferring to an education health and care plan.

Help for Carers Croydon logo

Help for Carers Croydon (Formerly known as Crossroads)

Funded by Croydon Council:

  • leads on a partnership with Mencap and the Carers Information Service to deliver Carer's Assessments to adults caring for an adult resident in Croydon
  • runs a Working Carers Project offering guidance to Croydon employers, helping them to identify carers in the workplace and develop carer friendly policies and working practices. This project also provides advice, advocacy and a monthly evening support group for working carers
  • provides a free 50 hours care at home service for carers

Funded by the Big Lottery to provide:

  • advice, emotional support and independent advocacy for Croydon carers aged 16 and over 
  • free regular daytime and evening social events throughout the borough for carers aged 16 and over. Carers are welcome to bring the person they care for.
