Dealing with carer stress for National Stress Awareness Day
It's National Stress Awareness Day and carers can face more stress than most. 72% of carers say that caring affects their mental health.
While a little stress can be healthy, most of us know that too much can be bad for us. But despite knowing the facts about stress, carers often struggle to see the amount of things they are dealing with and the impact this has on their health.
Techniques like mindfulness and exercise can reduce stress and promote relaxation. As a carer, it is important that you recognise your own symptoms and limits – knowing when you need to take a break and letting someone else step in can make all the difference.
